Historic careers follow reported Houston chief picks | Will Tazewell

He reportedly began his career as a firefighter and went on to become a paramedic. He then rose through the ranks to become chief in March 2013. Pena was born in Los Angeles, according to the EPFD website. He also served four years in the U.S. Air Force.
